Vijay Devarakonda Career:
Vijay Devarakonda made his acting debut in 2011 with Nuvvila a romantic comedy directed by Ravi Babu. Then he played a small side role in Shekhar Kamal’s film Life is Beautiful in 2012. He got huge recognition for his supporting role in the coming-of-age drama Yevade Subramanyam (2015), and he received the Nandi Award for special jury for the film.
In 2016 director Tharun Bhascker starred Vijay Devarakonda as the lead actor in Pelli Choopulu a romantic comedy opposite Ritu Verma, the film received positive reviews from critics and became a commercial success. Then he made another film Dwaraka in 2017 which was disappointing to the audience.
In the same year 2017, Vijay started in debut director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Arjun Reddy a romantic drama, he portrays a self-destructive, short-tempered, and alcoholic surgeon and received both praise and criticism for being bold and radical. For this film, Vijay won Filmfare Award for Best Actor, and Zee Golden Best Actor Award, and Film Companion ranked his performance as top 100 great performances of the Decade.
In the year 2018 total five films of Vijay released. The first one is Ye Mantram Vesave released in 2018, which was supposed to be released in 2013. In the same year, he starred film Mahanati which is a biography of the great actor Mahanati Savitri. His next release was Geetha Govindam in the same year opposite Rashmika Mandanna directed by Parasuram, the film received positive talk and it is commercially successful at the box office. His next release in 2018 was Nota his debut in a Tamil film directed by Anand Shankar which did not impress the audience. Then his next film Taxiwaala is a supernatural comedy thriller, a product of UV Creations.
In 2019 Devarakonda starred in the film Dear Comrade a romantic action drama, alongside Rashmika Mandanna directed by Bharat Kamma. In 2020 he acted in the film World Famous Lover a romantic drama opposite Raashi Khanna, Catherine Tresa, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Izabelle Leite directed by Kranthi Madhav which opened to negative reviews.
In 2022, he acted in the Hindi–Telugu bilingual film Liger directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Karan Johar which also opened to highly negative reviews. He then starred in Kushi directed by Shiva Nirvana and opened to mixed reviews. The film was a box office bomb. Deverakonda is set to star in the upcoming film titled Family Star.
